陈勋奇执导这部女性文艺片，企图透过三个女人的复杂关系反映出一段传奇色彩浓厚的人际关系。叶德娴在片中饰演贤淑的寡母，将独子张智霖独立培养成材，成为广告界名人，并娶了妇产科医生袁咏仪为妻，一向生活美满。不料他在一次意外中丧生，临终前透露另有外遇何超仪，而且她已怀孕在身，希望母亲和妻子能够加以接纳。三个立场不同的女人在没有老公之后，终于有机会省思女性自身的问题了。本片的编导手法比较传统，但演出还算相当投入。
