公元前227年，卫国军队在凤凰山遭遇梁军伏击，血战之后惟有受重伤的卫国大将军（王力宏 饰）和装死的梁国士兵（成龙 饰）二人存活。将军有着统一诸国的宏图壮志，而小兵只想过自己的太平日子。小兵活捉大将，企图带着大将回到梁国，换良田五亩从此过上永无兵役的幸福生活。从凤凰山到梁国的路上，前有无数未知风险，后有卫国神秘小队追踪，小兵靠着美好信念的支撑以及自己的小聪明一次次化解危机，然而，在到达梁国之时小兵却出人意料的放大将返回卫国。小兵在江畔目送大将驾小舟渐渐远去，可是他并不知道在身后梁国的土地上，发生了一场天翻地覆的变化……
朝鲜时代中期，有一个活在百姓心中的侠盗，他就是一枝梅。他专门惩罚有钱有势，有武力的贪官。由于不知道他的来历，他成为朝廷官员们最疼痛的罪犯，也是穷困百姓们的希望。剧中讲述了侠盗一枝梅与当权者和腐朽的社会制度进行抗争的故事，通过当时朝鲜王朝的种种腐败来讽刺当今韩国社会存在的官场与黑势力勾结、高官子弟享有特权、作弊风气等社会现象。
《桃花运》讲述了一群身份、年龄各异的都市男女的故事。他们中有贞洁“剩女”，也有绝望的主妇；有想找靠谱男性的富家女，也有吊金龟婿的摩登女；有性观念开放的海龟，也有只追中年妇女的师奶杀手……桃花运以不同的方式降临在这些男女身上，相同的是，它们都发生得让人措手不及，又挥之不去。
