当代著名清谈节目《有一说一》主持人严守一工作上遇到了很大的危机。因为原先支持他的主管节目的老总退位了，新换来的段总一味追求收视率，使得原先的节目定位和风格开始摇摆。严守一和总策划费墨想尽快提高节目的收视率又能保持节目原来的风格，但是找不到方法。这时在严守一的老家——河南严家庄，牛三斤他爹去世了，严守一从哥哥黑砖头的家乡来电里得知了这一消息，不禁勾起了他少年时期跟表嫂吕桂花去打电话的一段记忆。吕桂花是牛三斤的媳妇，严守一十一岁的时候，曾经跟吕桂花去镇上给在三矿工作的牛三斤打过一次电话。那次打电话的内容在三矿流传成了一首歌谣：牛三斤/牛三斤/你的媳妇叫吕桂花/吕桂花让问一问/最近你还回来吗？在主持人的台词培训班上，离婚后的严守一认识了开朗热情的台词教师沈雪。两人互相被吸引。在沈家的步步紧逼下，严守一和沈雪到了谈婚论嫁的地步。但在严守一带沈雪回老家见奶奶的时候，严守一得到了一个令他震惊的消息，这一消息使得严守一和沈雪的关系又紧张起来……

佐敦好友嘉华（刘以达饰）在元朗遇见债主新界安，打电话给佐敦求救，佐敦赶往途中遇见Judy 在街上狂奔。Judy正赶往医院探望刚撞车的爷爷，佐敦好心相助，载她到医院后才去救嘉华。但一到便被殴至头破血流，入院疗伤又遇见Judy 。
本作监督一职将由佐藤顺一担任，曾执导「海物语」及「ARIA」等治愈题材的他，今次执导这种充满智力解谜的作品，对他来说可谓是一个新的挑战，始于风格始终不同，我们也真的不能想像这是一部怎样的作品了。另外，曾为「SKIP BEAT」及「潘多拉之心」等作负责系列构成的关岛真濑，将再一次为这部原创动画给力，关岛真濑一向也有很不错的表现，我们当然也期待着他在本作中同样有出色的表现。
