与前两集不同《黎明踏浪号》的故事主要发生在海上，因此剧组准备到澳大利亚取景拍摄。此前已经选好的导演迈克尔·埃普特（Michael Apted）仍会继续担任导演，但之前的编剧Richard LaGravanese将被Michael Petroni所代替。
