RST means reset, which is used to close the connection abnormally. It is indispensable in TCP design. When sending RST packets to close the connection, you don't have to wait for all the packets in the buffer to be sent out (unlike the FIN packets above), and you directly send RST packets to discard the packets in the buffer.
